Digitisation could completely change the business model of almost half the companies in the leading industrialised nations within five years and lead to squeezing out of individual market participants. This is the finding of a recent study on the "Digital Vortex", conducted by Cisco and the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) business school in Lausanne. Companies should therefore lay the groundwork for a digital transformation in their own organisation early on.
